Cover the Fees Explained
Tithely charges a percentage for each transaction, depending on the payment method, plus 30 cents per transaction. The fees by payment method are:
• 2.9% + $0.30: VISA, MasterCard, Maestro, Discover, JCB, Union Pay, Diners
• 3.5% + $0.30: American Express
• 1% + $0.30: ACH/Bank Transfer
When a donor chooses to cover the fees, their total gift is increased, so the church receives their desired amount. For example, if someone gives $75 using a MasterCard and chooses to cover the fees, there total gift amount would be calculated like this: ($75 + $0.30) / (1 - .029) = $77.55. Cover the Fees is toggled on by default for Tithely Giving. Donors can still choose to opt-out of this feature.
